Wormald and its team members were the proud recipients of three awards at the annual Fire Protection Industry Awards Gala Dinner held on Thursday, 9th November at the Metropolis, Melbourne. Wormald and the team were presented with the Barry Lee Technical Excellence Award, Meritorious Service Award and the Award for Best Project over $1M.
Rod Rolfe, Wormald’s National Learning & Development Manager, was presented with the Barry Lee Technical Excellence Award for his outstanding contribution to the fire protection industry. With 40+ years of industry experience, Rod is a worthy recipient of this prestigious award, of which Wormald has been a proud sponsor for the last two years. Congratulations Rod.
Paul Newman, our Fire and Compliance Manager in Queensland, received a Meritorious Service Award which honours FPA Australia members who have made a significant contribution to the Association and the fire protection industry. Well done Paul.
Wormald also won Best Project over $1M for the Darling Harbour precinct project that included the Sydney International Conference Centre (ICC), the Exhibition Centre and Theatre Darling Harbour. This award acknowledges projects that have successfully demonstrated outstanding management and administration of a fire protection project. Wormald coordinated delivery with the owner/facility manager, the consultant/engineer, and the contractor to effectively complete the fire protection project which was judged on its commitment to timely completion, implementation, sustainability, innovation and best practice. This was a challenging project, yet Wormald was able to demonstrate its commitment and ability to overcome hurdles to deliver a high quality outcome.
Wormald has a long and proud history with the Fire Protection Association Australia dating back to 1960 when the Association was founded. It’s great to see our ongoing commitment to the fire protection industry continuing to be recognised. I’m incredibly proud of our people and the excellent work we are doing for our customers.
